This is the machine for those who want an entirely customizable one-press, hands-free latté. For more information, check out our Beem Espresso Grinder Profession review.

You can test different blends instantly with its bean hoppers that can be swapped. Its profiles allow you to start where you left at. It's also cheaper than capsule machines, and makes use of real beans instead of pre-ground beans.

1. Smeg BCC02

Created by Milan-based firm Deep Design, this sleek, compact and striking machine combines the brand's inimitable retro style with modern technology. This machine handles all stages of making coffee, from grinding beans to tamping into a puck and texturing milk to dispensing the right volume.

The machine also has a stylish brushed aluminium front and comes in a variety of black, red or taupe, so it's a great fit for the majority of kitchen designs. It's not without flaws however. Most reviewers found that it was quite expensive for a cup-to- bean maker (and isn't equipped with an ice cube).

There were many positive reviews about the machine's user-friendliness and the quality of the coffee. The digital display provides information and step-bystep instructions throughout the entire brewing procedure, helping you to improve your coffee each time. It will even prompt you to adjust the grind size if it's not enough. It's like having a personal home barista (minus Harry Potter's invisibility cloak, and Elon Musk's rocket-building abilities).

This model is ideal for those who prefer milky drinks. The steam wand can be adjusted upwards and downwards to fit a variety of drinking vessels, except Viking drinking horns. We were impressed by the speed and efficiency of the frothing procedure, too. It creates an excellent, full-flavoured, delicious espresso with a great crema.

The BCC02 is an excellent all-rounder. It's quiet and efficient, and it is a great value at a price that is currently PS499. The only drawback is the fact that it doesn't offer the same level of customization like some of the other bean to cups we've tested. Its pump is 15 bars rather than the standard 19 bars. This is not enough for producing top-quality espressos. This is a fantastic machine for those who like their coffee strong and dark. 2. Melitta Barista TS Smart

The Barista TS Smart is a fantastic bean-to-cup machine with numerous features that make it stand above the rest. Its most distinctive feature could be the fact that it is able to be controlled via your smartphone with the Melitta Connect App. This lets you change the settings and then dispense different coffee recipes that are stored inside the machine.

This makes the machine super flexible and adaptable to your tastes. There are many options to change the intensity of your beverage, cup sizes and even whether you want milk added. The machine comes with two airtight containers of beans that are automatically chosen to suit different specialities. The machine will default to using standard espresso beans and cafe creme, a German variant of flat white or long black. However, you are able to choose any beans you like. There is also a chute for pre-ground beans if you prefer to use your own.

Users have also been amazed by the speed of the machine. They've said that it is able to make their drinks much faster than other machines they've used. Another advantage is that the machine will alert you when one of its hoppers is about to be empty, ensuring that you aren't caught running out of your preferred beverage.

The only thing that could be a disadvantage for certain individuals is the price. This machine is not cheap, at nearly PS999. It's still cheaper than similar Jura machines with the same number features.

Barista TS smart is covered by a two-year guarantee. This is longer than the standard one-year guarantee, so it is a good sign of confidence from the manufacturer. It also comes with a cleaning tablet and a descaler, making it simple to keep on top of your machine's maintenance requirements. This is an excellent machine for those looking for a high-quality and versatile bean to cup machine that's priced at a reasonable price.
